What is the difference between DALI 1 and DALI-2?
Everyone in the field of LED lighting knows that DALI system is the most advanced lighting control system in the world at present. The principle of DALI system (What is DALI control system?-helvar ) is probably based on multiple intelligent modules connected to DALI bus.
DALI bus signal can be used to communicate with each intelligent module and transmit instructions and state information. It can not only control each lamp individually, such as linear control of brightness, color temperature, and color but also control the lamps in groups and set different scene modes and plans.
Dali-2 refers to the latest version of the DALI protocol, which has many new commands and features compared to the DALI system. The DALI system version only includes control devices, while Dali-2 includes control devices such as application controllers and input devices (such as sensors), as well as bus power supplies. Dali-2 updates on the original version of DALI (also known as DALI V-1) include:
A. Fix DALI's original version of the system for errors and deficiencies, for example, stricter timing requirements for transfers, and remove some of the features that were less used.
B. Added some new command interface and transmission message frame features. The control system is more standardized, forming IEC 62386-103 and IEC 62386-3XX series standards.
C. Mandatory authentication requirements. Compulsory certification is required for products that comply with DALI's latest standard, Dali-2.
